about eden’s harvest

eden’s harvest was born out of the fossils at the intersection of language and the tangible world. The work is preoccupied with stories, poetry, and nature. All items are handmade from memory, in New York City.

eden’s harvest was formally established in 2017, though the practice dates back to 2002.

about the creator

genevieve raftery is a jeweler, artist, and writer based in new york city. she attended eugene lang college at the new school where she acquired a degree in literature with a concentration in creative fiction writing.

inspired by her environment, a beach town in new jersey, genevieve expressed interest in jewelry making from a young age. foraging by hand along the coast, her initial and integral approach to the practice, is maintained in her current work.

many of her jewelry-making methods are self-taught and inspired by the bounty of supplies passed down to her from the earth, friends, and family.

“Language is fossil poetry. As the limestone of the continent consists of infinite masses of the shells of animalcules, so language is made up of images, or tropes, which now, in their secondary use, have long ceased to remind us of their poetic origin.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
